1. Masala Khakhra

This khakhra recipe is a spicy yet delicious recipe with authentic masala because of which khakhra tastes delicious. 

Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour- 1 cup
  • Dry fenugreek leaves- 2 tbsp
  • Oil- 1 tbsp
  • Gram flour- 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
  • Ajwain seeds- ¼ tsp
  • Hing- 1/8 tsp
  • Green chilli- 1 chopped
  • Milk - ⅓  cup
  • Red chilli powder - ¼ tsp
  • Salt for taste

Preparation Method

1. In a deep bowl, take whole wheat flour, hing, turmeric powder, salt, fenugreek leaves, red chilli powder, gram flour, ajwain seeds, and green chilli. Mix it well! 

2. Add oil and mix properly. 

3. Add the milk slowly by kneading the firm dough. 

4. You can add 1 to 2 tbsp of water if needed or knead the dough with milk only.

5. Cover the khakhra dough with white muslin cloth for half an hour.

6. Make equal portions of the dough and roll them round and thin on the rolling board.

7. Take iron tava and preheat it on medium flame.

8. Transfer the rolled khakhra to the heated tava and roast by pressing it with a light hand on both sides until it becomes crisp.

9. Let it cook until it gets little light brown spots.  

10 Let it cool and make other khakhras. Store them in an air-tight container.

2. Ragi And Coriander Khakhra

Get a twist of refreshing flavours in your mouth with this tasty ragi and coriander khakhra recipe.

Ingredients

  • Rice flour - 2 tbsp
  • Ragi flour - 1/3 cup
  • Whole wheat flour - ½ cup
  • Red chilli powder - ½ tsp
  • Coriander leaves chopped - ⅓  cup
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Method

1. Take a bowl and add all the given ingredients except the oil.

2. Combine all the ingredients thoroughly, then add the oil and soft dough while adding the necessary amount of water.

3. Divide the dough into equal parts and make khakhra out.  

4. Cook them on the iron tava until becomes crispy.

5. Let it cook until it gets little light brown spots.

3. Quinoa Kale Khakhra

This khakhra recipe is densely rich in protein. It contains the health benefits and the goodness of both Quinoa and Kale.

Ingredients

  • Oat flour- ½ cup
  • Quinoa flour - ½ cup
  • Chopped kale - 5 tbsp
  • Oil - 1 ½  tbsp
  • Garlic paste - ½ tsp
  • Green chilli pastes - ½ tsp
  • Whole wheat flour- ¼ cup
  • Sesame seeds roasted - ½ tbsp
  • Salt for taste

Preparation Method

1. In a deep bowl, combine all the ingredients and make the semi-soft dough using water.

2. Make equal portions of the dough.

3. Make round, thin roti with a rolling pin on the rolling board.

4. Heat the tava, transfer the khakhra, and cook it while pressing it with a cloth.

5. You can apply little oil or add a little oil while cooking to make it crisper. 

6. Make all the khakhras and let them cool. 

7. Store them in an air-tight box.

Besides eating khakhra as it is, you can customise it according to your preferences. Here are some suggestions for making a simple Khakhra more appetising.

1. Pizza Khakhra

This specially-made food is primarily for children. All you need to do is take a khakhra and apply some pizza sauce. Then add some veggies like maise, paneer, capsicum, olives, and cheese. You can use any combination of ingredients you like.

It depends on your preference whether you put the vegetables in cooked or raw form and then serve it so that you can immediately enjoy a low-calorie, healthy pizza at home.

2. Khakhra Chivda
