Kane is known as the best fish for kids. It is called Pathiya meen in Tamil, meaning anyone can eat it. So even if someone suffers from any disease, this fish will not aggravate the condition. Instead, it would help in healing.

Fish does this by lowering fats called triglycerides in the blood. Fish oils also help to reduce blood clotting and abnormal heart rhythms after a heart attack.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids found in fish help to prevent damage to brain cells. Eating fish also reduces the risk of high blood pressure, which is linked to dementia.

4. Fight Cancer

A Swedish study of 6000 men aged over 30 years showed that those who did not eat fish had between double and triple the risk of prostate cancer compared to those who consumed moderate or large amounts. Shellfish, such as crab and lobster, contain selenium and are believed to have cancer-fighting properties.

5. Eases Depression

It has been reported that fish can ease depression. But, again, it is because of  omega-3 fatty acids, believed to raise levels of the brain's chemical serotonin.

6. Reduces And Relieves Arthritis
