      The fruit has a high yielding capacity of around 100 kilograms per plant for almost six years which is considered more than the other guava varieties. It is primarily cultivated in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa and Tamil Nadu.    

      Allahabad is well-known for cultivating the best guava in India throughout the world. National Horticulture Board (NHB) reported that the area under guava cultivation in 1991-92 was 94,000 hectares. However, it increased to 64% and reached 1,55,000 hectares in 2001-02.
